Nike Free Run +2

Get Better, Faster.

Choosing the right shoes is one of the most important decisions you can make as a runner. A good pair of shoes can make or break your workout, and it's easy to go wrong.

Nike Free Run +2 as the name itself is best built for running. Running that has the benefit of an all-natural barefoot experience brought by its super-flexible yet supportive midsole and an ultra-light upper give you a perfect stability of motion control. It is perfectly designed for strengthening the foot and ankle by working core muscles that aren't activated in conventional running shoes. It is one of the limited shoes that provide shock absorption that reduces foot injuries or foot shock when in motion.

To start choosing the right pair for you, here is my simple tip for you: Know your foot type.

Flat Feet

If you cannot see an arch at your foot and the bottom of your foot, from your toes to your heel is completely flat then you're a flat feet type. Another measure is when you cannot see an inward curve from your big toe to your heel. Wait, you don't have to panic! It just means that when you run, most likely, your feet roll inward. All you need is a running shoe that maintains your stability. When looking for shoes, try asking the salesperson for shoes that has motion control and stability features. These can be usually found in lightweight shoes.

High-Arched Feet

This is usually the easiest to figure out since you will be noticing a high and definite arch on your foot. The middle part of your foot would look very skinny and when you push your hand against the bottom of your foot, your arch will stay rigid. High-arched type means that when you run, your feet roll outwards, as oppose to flat feet type. Runners with high arches usually remeasure their feet because running will cause their arches to gradually fall, making their feet longer. So, for this type, flexible running shoes with a soft midsole that absorbs shocks must be given priority among other attributes. When looking for shoes, try to look for words flexible or cushioned into the descriptions.

Normal Feet

If you're in the middle of being a flat feet type and high-arched feet type, then you're having a normal feet. You may see a quite noticeable curve inward but not by more that 3/4 of an inch. This is the most common type of foot and it's also the least susceptible to injury. Congratulations! You have the highest freedom to choose from a variety of running shoes for you don't have to look for a specific attribute or type of shoes. However, be careful as well to choose for you must also pick shoes having the neutral benefits. Don't pick shoes having a strong stability or motion control feature for this might be the cause of developing an unexpected foot and muscle problems.

If you still can't determine your type, try using the wet test wherein you will dip your foot into a water, and step it into a paper or somewhere where you can see the marks made by your feet. Then refer to this picture:

Then if you've found the right pair for you, always remember to buy 1/2 to a full size bigger than your regular shoe because your feet will swell and this will prevent you from having black toenails and blisters. Now, go on and have a healthy run!

                                                    Keep running!
